DEATH BENEFIT
Mutual Life's Death Benefit is a cash benefit that pays out a predetermined amount of money when a covered member passes aways due to an illness or natural cause.
REPATRIATION
Mutual Life's Repatriation benefit caters to the repatriation of a deceased member's corpse from the place of their death to the place of their burial or closest mortuary at no additional cost
PAID-UP BENEFIT
When a Mutual Life policyholder passes away, we will automatically transfer your policy to your beneficiary, so that they can still benefit from your cover at no additional cost.
ACCIDENT COVER
In the unfortunate event that a policyholder gets into an accident and is left with a permanent disability, Mutual Life will pay out the full amount of the policy and the policy becomes paid-up.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes you can buy your funeral cover or life cover from Mutual Life. Mutual Life covers both local citizens and foreign nationals, regardless of your nationality.
Our policies have a 6 month waiting period, this waiting period also applies to new members that are added to a policy even if the policy has been active for more than 6 months.
Yes you can, however extended family members are covered for half the amount of the policyholders is covered for. This means that if the policyholder has a cover for 10000, the extended family member is covered 5000.
Exclusions include:
- Suicide Death( Suicide death has a waiting period of 2 years.
- Death due to participating in hazardous activities or acts of war.
- Death caused as a result of participation in a crime or anything regarded as an illegal activity by the country’s law, this includes accidental death caused by drunk driving, or a covered member being killed while committing a robbery or theft.
Valid claims are paid out within 3 to 6 hours.
Please note that policy documents are only issued after you pay your first installment. If you fail to pay your first installment your policy will automatically be cancelled.
