Mutual Life Africa Announces Strategic Intent to Pursue Dual Listing on London and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges by 2027/2028

Cape Town, South Africa — 15/01/2026— Mutual Life Africa, a rapidly growing pan-African insurance and financial services group, today announced its intention to pursue a dual listing on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), targeting an initial public offering (IPO) in the 2027–2028 window.

This strategic milestone marks the next phase in the Group’s evolution, positioning Mutual Life Africa to access international capital markets, strengthen its balance sheet, and accelerate its long-term growth ambitions across the African continent and global diaspora markets.

A Platform for Scalable Growth

The proposed listing is primarily aimed at maximizing access to growth capital, enabling the Group to:

  • Expand operations across all 52 African countries
  • Deepen market penetration in existing territories
  • Establish international service offices in key global hubs with high concentrations of African diaspora communities
  • Invest in digital infrastructure, distribution, and customer experience innovation

Mutual Life Africa has built a diversified platform spanning funeral cover, life insurance, travel protection, and emerging financial services solutions tailored to underserved and mobile-first populations across Africa and abroad.

Positioning Africa for Global Investment

By pursuing a dual listing structure, the Group intends to bridge African growth opportunities with global institutional capital. The London listing is expected to provide access to deep international investor pools, while the Johannesburg listing will anchor the Group within one of the continent’s most sophisticated financial markets, enhancing regional investor participation and sector alignment.

Executive Commentary

“Our intention to list reflects both confidence in our business model and the scale of opportunity ahead,” said Martin Haize, Chief Operating Officer of Mutual Life Africa. “Africa represents one of the most underpenetrated insurance markets globally, and we are building a platform designed to serve customers seamlessly across borders—from local communities to the global diaspora.”

He added, “This capital raise will allow us to accelerate our expansion strategy, strengthen our operational footprint, and deliver long-term value to policyholders, partners, and future shareholders.”

Building a Pan-African Financial Services Ecosystem

Mutual Life Africa’s long-term vision extends beyond traditional insurance. The Group is focused on building an integrated financial services ecosystem that leverages technology to deliver accessible, affordable, and cross-border financial protection solutions.

With increasing demand driven by urbanization, migration, and rising financial awareness, the Group believes it is well-positioned to capture structural growth trends across both domestic African markets and international diaspora corridors.

Next Steps

Mutual Life Africa will begin preparatory work toward the listing over the coming months, including corporate structuring, governance enhancements, and engagement with advisors. The final timing and structure of the IPO will be subject to market conditions and regulatory approvals.
